Why the NFFE?
The Nadesalingam Foundation for Education was born from a lifelong belief in the power of education to change lives.
Sir Mick Nades, originally from a small village in Sri Lanka, earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Ceylon in 1967 and went on to become a qualified professional accountant through the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK) and a Fellow of the Certified Practising Accountants in Australia.
His journey took him across continents from Sri Lanka to Australia and Canada before he made Papua New Guinea his home in 1982.
Captivated by the warmth of its people and the potential of its youth, Sir Mick found his true calling at the age of 50: to enrich lives through world class education.
That calling led to the founding of IBSUniversity in 2017, a cornerstone of opportunity for thousands of Papua New Guineans. But Sir Mick’s vision is even greater to create a lasting legacy that will continue to empower generations.
The Nadesalingam Foundation for Education was established to ensure that this vision lives on. It is more than a foundation. It is a promise to the people of Papua New Guinea: that education will remain a gateway to dignity, progress, and a better tomorrow.
